Amrut Yojana

Amrut Yojana full form is Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation.

Amrut Yojana: Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation is a scheme launched by the Government of India to improve the infrastructure of urban areas, such as sewerage, urban transport, parks, and water supply. The main objective of the Amrut Yojana is to improve the quality of life in cities, especially for the poor.

Amrut Yojana Launch Date 

Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation launch date is 25 June 2015. Similarly, Amrut Yojana 2.0 Scheme was launched on 01 October 2021. This scheme aims to improve the infrastructure for about 500+ cities. 

Amrut Yojana Eligibility

The basic eligibility for the Amrut Yojana is depends on an urban area with a population exceeding 60000 people. The Government of India gives these cities water supply, sewerage, and urban transport. It is an open scheme, there is no specific eligibility criteria for individuals or households.  

Amrut Yojana Benefits

Water Supply: Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation provides special water supply arrangements for the hilly areas, coastal cities, etc. The revival of the Drinking Water supply and recharging of groundwater. Renew the old water supply systems including the treatment plants. 

Sewerage: The Government of India is renewing the old sewerage system and treatment plants. The recycling of water for Beneficial purposes and the reuse of wastewater. 

Urban Transport: Footpaths, multi-level parking, inland waterways, including port, bay, and buses have been provided by the Government. 

Green Space and Parks: The Plants and trees play an important role in developing the cities.
