The exam is conducted offline (pen-and-paper mode) and comprises 180 multiple-choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates get 3 hours to complete the exam, typically scheduled from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM IST.

NEET UG Eligibility Criteria 2026

NEET UG Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 17 years on or before December 31, 2026.

  • No upper age limit is imposed as per the latest regulations.

NEET UG Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 (or equivalent) exams with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects.

  • Minimum qualifying marks:

  • General category: 50% aggregate in PCB

  • Reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwD): 40% aggregate

Nationality

  • Indian Nationals, NRIs, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply.

NEET NTA NIC in UG Exam Pattern 2026

  • Mode: Offline (Pen-and-Paper)

  • Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes)

  • Total Questions: 180 (compulsory)

    • Physics: 45 questions

    • Chemistry: 45 questions

    • Biology (Botany and Zoology): 90 questions

  • Marking Scheme: +4 for correct, -1 for incorrect, 0 for unanswered

  • Languages: Offered in 13 languages including English and Hindi

NEET UG Syllabus 2026

  • Physics:Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electrodynamics, Optics, Modern Physics, and more.

  • Chemistry:Physical, Organic, and Inorganic Chemistry including Chemical Bonding, Biomolecules, Coordination Compounds.

  • Biology:Botany and Zoology topics including Genetics, Human Physiology, Ecology, Reproduction, Cell Biology.

Candidates should focus strongly on NCERT textbooks, as most questions are NCERT-based.

    • General/NRI: INR 1700

    • EWS/OBC: INR 1600

  • Correction window will be provided in the second week of March 2026 for any necessary edits.
